Zacuto announces new accessories and Z-Finder for the Canon C80 Camera

Canon is a back again with another camera release, the Canon C80. Over the past month, we have worked to make some of our popular accessories compatible with new Canon C80 camera. The newly announced camera will make its debut appearance at IBC, September 13-16th. If you are visiting stop by Canon Stand 11.C40 to check out the new camera.

Canon C80 vs. Canon C70

While the camera looks a lot like the Canon C70, there are some notable differences that Canon added in response to feedback. The Canon C80 is not a replacement for the Canon C70. It is another camera in the Canon EOS line up.

Some differences include full-frame 6K recording, SDI output, and an enhanced LCD panel with higher luminance. The C80 also boasts a new joystick for improved ergonomics, a more robust LCD hinge, built in Wi-Fi, and a shoe terminal.

Canon C80 Z-Finder

While the Canon C80 is very similar to the C70 in size and shape, there are a few changes and we’ve ensured our popular Z-Finder is fully compatible. For those who already own the Zacuto Z-Finder Pro 2.5, you’ll be pleased to know that you can continue using it by purchasing our custom mounting frame, specifically designed for the C80.

The C80 mounting frame slides over the camera’s LCD and is secured to the camera’s shoulder strap hook. The design provides 135 degrees of tilt, allowing you to angle the monitor both up and down with a single lever. The Z-Finder can also flip open, providing easy access to the touch screen functions.

Canon C80 Cage

Zacuto's new C80 Cage allows you to build a rig that’s versatile and durable. The cage features multiple ¼”-20 and ⅜”-16 mounting holes, built in Z-Rail along the top and sides for the Tactical Top or Side Handle and an ARCA compatible bottom plate for integration into the ACT Baseplate for a shoulder mounted rig. We have also provided relocation holes for the camera's microphone mount and a coldshoe for lighting or audio devices like the Zacuto MicroBOOM.
