Canon C400 Z-Finder Recoil Rig
The Canon C400 Z-Finder Recoil Pro is a shoulder rig designed specifically for the Canon C400. This is a Next Generation Recoil rig designed for optimal balance and comfort when shoulder mounted or on a tripod. With lenses and cameras being similar weights, the balance point is where the lens meets the camera body. In a shoulder mount rig, the balance point needs to be directly over your shoulder which puts the camera behind you. The Recoil rig adjusts for that balance point and relocates focus, monitoring and camera controls forward, creating a lighter, shorter and properly balanced rig.
The Canon C400 Shoulder-mounted rig includes our VCT Pro baseplate, the Rosette Trigger Grip to relocate the C400 handgrip, the Canon C400 cage, the Canon C400 Z-Finder with rosette adapter and Axis Mini, and tactical handle. This is the ultimate configuration for shoulder mounting the Canon C400 utilizing the Canon C400 LCD screen with Z-Finder.
VCT Pro – this baseplate has a sliding top plate for quickly removing the camera from the rig or fast lens changes, a built-in, curved shoulder pad, a v-wedge tripod connector (with ¼” 20 and 3/8" 16 screw option). It has removable and extendable 6.5” rods and rows of ¼” 20 screw holes along the sides for accessories. It has quick release 15mm rod parts in the rear. The recessed rod mount offers maximum accessory capable space under your camera lens.
Rosette Trigger Grip- relocates the Canon camera grip to a comfortable handgrip position for shoulder rigs. Our trigger grips are the most adjustable grips available. They allow for single-handed 360° rotation with the simple press of a trigger.
Canon C400 Cage - The C400 cage includes a top plate and two side rails that mount to the VCT Pro. The side rails are optional and not required to use with the top plate. The Top Plate has a built in Z-Rail to mount the Tactical Handle. The cage design maintains access to the hotshoe on the top rear of the camera for audio devices. It also has tapped holes to relocate Canon's mic shock mount to the side of the cage. The cage has several bi-directional Z-Rail, integrated cold shoe slots in the rear, numerous anti rotation 1/4 20 and 3/8 16 tapped holes, and removable top 15mm rod clamps. The side rails are Z-Rail with Arri style rosettes, anti rotation 1/4 20 and 3/8 16 tapped holes.
Tactical Handle- Our most versatile handle! With the turn of one ratcheting lever, this handle can be a top handle, left hand grip, or right hand grip- use it where you need it for your shooting style. The slim design fits comfortably in your hand. Along the top is a Z-Rail (NATO rail), giving you multiple ¼ 20 screw holes for mounting accessories like a small monitor. It also has a coldshoe mount and 15mm rod port for mounting the Axis Mini, EVF Mount.
Axis Mini - the most adjustable style mount for rosette mounted Z-Finders and EVFs, giving you full 360º motion with four adjustment points. Designed to attach to the top of your camera set up, it leaves plenty of room at the lens for focusing and will work with the widest of lenses. It can easily be adjusted with one hand while the rig is on your shoulder. The Axis Mini has extensive articulation for use with a variety of cameras, both shoulder mounted in a Next Generation Recoil or in tripod operating position. It is very small and quick to install and remove. The Axis Mini attaches to the 15mm rod port in the tactical handle. The Axis Mini has three red tension levers that are controlled independently with motion. Release all three levers to completely reposition the mount or release just one to make single segment adjustments. You can dial in the exact amount of tension needed at each lever to adjust on the fly. Just grab and move.
Canon C400 Z-Finder and Rosette Mount- The Canon C400 Z-Finder is an optical viewfinder, specifically designed to attach to the Canon C400 LCD Monitor. This Z-Finder will magnify the LCD screen by 2.5x and has a diopter wheel for specific focus tuning. If you need extra focal points you can use the included Z-Finder Extender Frames. These are semi-permanent stackable frames that attach to the body of the Z-Finder and extend the Z-Finder glass further away from the LCD screen for people who are farsighted. The diopter range with the included lens and extender frames is -2.5 to 0. If you need more adjustment than the Extender Frames provide, you can purchase drop in diopters for further diopter adjustment. The interchangeable diopters, -1, +1, +2, +3 and +4, correct the focus to your vision for perfect clarity. This package comes with the Rosette mount to use the Axis Mini.
